Hi Sir,

I have got yasaka mark V rubber on both sides of my racket.  But,i noticed that the red colour of the mark V is much slower when compared to the black.  While doing some backhand counter hitting, with the same action, the red side of the racket made the ball often go to the net.  But,when i played it with the black the strokes were much faster and also consistent.  So,how can i improve the red side to work faster.

Thanks for the hard effort that you undertook for making pingskills a grand success.

Hi Sameera,

It may just be that the red side is dead.  It may have been exposed to heat or just used more.  You can try to clean it with a damp sponge.  Other than that it is hard to do anything to improve the quality of the rubber.

The other thing to check is are the thicknesses of the sponge the same.  If the red side sponge is thinner it may also have this same effect.

If the rubber is dead, you are best to buy a new one. As a rough guide, a rubber will last around 80 playing hours if you look after it.
