Dear  Sir

While training for consistency, THE FOREHAND DRIVE to my opponents back hand side, ball gets stuck up on net, while executing  the same stroke to my opponents forehand and middle side ball easily gets over the net and lands on the table correctly.
Can you please advise me how to over come the shortcoming!

Regards-

Pradeep

Hi Pradeep,

When you are playing the ball down the line to their backhand side it is a shorter distance.  So you need to put a little more topspin on the ball to get the ball up and down over the net and on the table.

Also play the ball slower to start with till you get used to the distance.

Forehand Counterhit.  This is the same thing.

Thanks. And also what is a forehand loop?

If you take a look at the Strokes & Techniques section you will see the Forehand topspin against backspin.  That is the loop.

So the forehand loop is the same thing as the forehand topspin?

So the loop is more vertical than the topspin?

The loop is harder than the topspin, but I'm getting the hang of it.
