Hi Leo,

The first thing is to find a tournament in your area.  If you are not alreeady a member contact your local club.  They will help you to find tournaments.

Some tournaments are run on a knockout format where if you lose once you are out.  Some are run on a round robin format so you may get a few games even if you lose one.  Some are conducted on a combination of both. This will depend on the number of entries and the tables available for the tournament.

To advance categories you usually need to perform well in the category you are in.
