Hi alois
I wanted to know how to increase my ability to attack fast serves with backspin on them especially if my opponent continues to vary the serve between my forehand and backhand. I may be able to attack such a fast serve if it is on one side but i face difficulty with attacking this kind of serve if my opponent varies the position of serve.
Hi Humaira,
You are a step closer to getting this right. It is great that you are able to do the strokes from one position. Now it is a matter of practising it more and watching the direction of the ball right from the server's hand.
We talk a little about this concept in the Building Blocks of Table Tennis section in our video on Randomisation. I hope this helps.
In this session we introduce some random drills. A random drill is where you don't always know where the ball is going. Random drills are really important for your development as they are more game like. You need to be able to play your strokes well even when you don't know where the ball is going. We also continue to work on your new serve. This week we introduce a target into your service practice to help you gain even more control on your serve.
