Hi Alois and Jeff!

I was wondering if there are any exercises through which I can develop my touch, that is, my very fine contact on the ball when I am not at the table?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Sourav,

You can try to brush the ball finely and get it to spin on the ground.  You can also spin the ball up and try to control it with your bat again.

Just hitting the ball up and down on the bat will also improve your touch and control.

A lot of the things that we show you in our lesson on Practicing Alone will also help.

#33 - Defending with the Block

One thing you can be sure of is that every top player will be able to keep the ball on the table with a solid block when under pressure. It seems that this is a pre-requisite to becoming a good player. That's why in this training session we focus on improving your block. If you can absorb your opponent's attack you will be in a good position to win a match against them.
