First Custom Bat

Equipment

Hello!

I am looking to get my first custom bat---I have done some reading about good custom bats (and watched your video!), and I was thinking of pairing a Timo Boll ALL+ blade with Tackiness Drive as the backhand rubber and Sriver EL as the forehand rubber---my question is: will that pairing of rubbers and blade be viable for a first custom bat? I am an all around player tending towards defensive and Sriver was recommended as a first rubber (and Mark V, but Tackfire Drive seemed to fit the defensive backhand better), but I'd like to hear your opinion please!

Thank you and Regards,

Hi Theodore,

That is a good choice.  That should suit you well.

Choosing a Table Tennis Bat

Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.
