Hi pingskills team, i have a question regarding footwork in the FH loop. Lets talk about feet, which part of the feet is the only one thats making contact with the floor? Is the whole weight of the body concentrated on the balls of the heel, staying flat foot on the floor or using the 1st half of the feet only without the heel touching the floor? Some say its the balls of the heel if so how do we push off with our heels? Theres a lot of contradiction about this in resources that i have gathered and was hoping you can shed some light into this

Best regards

Amekun

Hi Amekun,

They talk about the balls of the feet rather than the balls of the heel. The balls of our feet are the front part of the foot rather than the back.  It is best to have your weight slightly forward with the weight mainly centred on the front half of the foot.  Your heels don’t need to be off the ground totally.
