Hi!

As the title suggests, i have trouble from using forehand in the backhand area and getting back to the forehand area using appropriate footwork so then i can be ready for the next hit. i'm already trying to work on it but i can't get there in time when there is a fast return.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi,

When you make the pivot forehand (forehand from backhand corner) you need to either make a strong shot or a shot that places the ball well.  You are really committing to the shot by being so far out.

You can make the crossover footwork for the next ball.  This will get you there faster but again you are in a bad position to get back for the next ball.

The key is to get that pivot stroke effective.

Tactics Against A Defensive Chopper

A chopper likes to get back from the table and get into a nice rhythm. If you keep the defender close to the table in the early part of the rally, it's hard for them to transition back into their chopping position. So keep the ball short on your serve and try and catch them unprepared. Watch the video to find out more great tactics to use against a defensive chopper.

Hi sir alois, when i try to do pivot footwork to hit the ball with my forehand from the backhand side, i found that i can't control my strokes and i don't have a lot of consistency and also most of the ball is out so, what should i do to make the pivot good ?

You need to make sure your footwork is good so that you are in a balanced position when you hit the ball.
