Hi Alois.

While chopping in a game should we always keep our leg behind or can we play normally?

Hi Rahul,

For a normal backhand from close to the table you wouldn't generally have time to turn sideways which is why the backhand is played square on.

When chopping however you are usually back from the table and this gives you more time. Therefore on the backhand chop it is much easier to turn sideways and have one foot behind the other. You can see this in action in our backhand chop lesson.
