Forehand backspin serve/no spin serve

I had some difficulties whether a forehand serve is backspin or no spin serve.Please help!

Hi Jeremy,

Ou need to watch the contact and the flight of the ball.  These will give you clues.  If they contact the ball flat then there will be no spin.  If the contact is a brushing action under the ball then it will be backspin.

The flight is also a bit different.  The spin serve will go slower through the air.

Fake Movements

After the ball has left the server's bat, they can no longer affect the spin that is on the ball. Any movements after the contact are referred to as fake movements and are meant to confuse you as the receiver. You need to focus on the contact to read the spin.
