hi coach,

i watched the video of forehand flick and i can do it too. But the problem is if the opponent returns it i can't play the ball because i can't get to position. i remain sticked to the table.

Can you help me out and tell how can i get into position faster?

thanks

Hi Utkarsh,

The key is to push with your right foot to get back into position.

To go forward to make the forehand flick you need to get your right foot (for a right hander) under the table closer to the bounce of the ball.  Then to get back you need to push with that right foot and jump back into your ready position.

This is an important part of being able to play short balls well.

Strawberry Flick

The strawberry flick is the opposite of the banana flick and involves utilising the wrist to get the ball spinning with topspin and sidespin. Used in conjunction with the banana flick it can be very deceptive. The banana flick is a more reliable stroke and that's why you see more top players using it over the strawberry flick.
