Strokes
hi guys
When would you use a forehand loop shot as apposed to a drive?
Thanks
Stan
Hi Stan,
The loop is just a slower topspin. It is usually used against a backspin ball. The drive is used against a block ball.
Take a look at these two lessons for the difference.
The Loop is like this: Forehand Topspin Off Backspin
The Drive is more like this: Forehand Topspin Against Block
So if the ball has backspin and your opponent likes the ball coming faster in general and you want to hit it slower to upset the rhythm of your opponent, then use the loop.
If you want to hit the ball with more speed especially against a block or flatter ball then use the drive.
