Hi Coach,

I'm quite  desperate!! I was told by a guy who's very good that when I perform forehand topspin against block instead of leaning forward my back goes backward ...... I'm quite aware of this but I can't find the way out. Please help me !

Hi Vito,

Firstly don't stress about it so much.  It will only lead to you tightening up and making technique harder.

Think about getting into a good Basic Stance first.  This will get you into a good start position for your stroke.  Then during the stroke think about keeping your head down.  This will help you to keep your balance forward. Keep everything still during your shot except your arm and rotation of the trunk of your body.  As soon as you lift up your weight will go backwards.

The Finish Position

There are 3 basic areas to focus on when learning a stroke: 1) The position of your feet. 2) The starting position of your bat. 3) The finishing position of your bat. Of all these 3 elements the finish position is the most critical. Watch this video to find out why.
