Hi Alois and Jeff,

I noticed that my topspin down the line too often misses the end of the table. I seem to have some issues with pressing the ball down, especially when countering a faster return. Not entirely sure what might be the cause, it could be the body position since it sometimes feels like leaning backwards when out of time, but I think it might as well be the lack of spin.

Any suggestions on how to improve here?

Hi Martin,

When playing down the line you do need more topspin to get the ball to dip onto the table.  There is a shorter distance to work with.

Focus on more spin and less speed initially when playing this shot and then get the feel for the stroke.
