Hello Sir,

I always face problem while playing forehand top spin on a deep chop or on a ball with lots of back spin.

Can you guide me on this as how should be the flow of the hand while playing this shot and what modification needs to be done in order to add more speed to the shot.

Hi Nishit,

Make the stroke more vertical and shorter if you are caught short for time.  This will lift the ball over the net with good topspin still.  You can move your bat through faster if you want the ball to move faster.

If you do start to get a faster contact then you can also get the swing a little more horizontal.  This will take a lot of racket head speed though, so start with a vertical stroke.

Strawberry Flick

The strawberry flick is the opposite of the banana flick and involves utilising the wrist to get the ball spinning with topspin and sidespin. Used in conjunction with the banana flick it can be very deceptive. The banana flick is a more reliable stroke and that's why you see more top players using it over the strawberry flick.
