Gaining confidence

Strokes

Hi Alois/Jeff,

Having not played for over 30 years, I find that analysing my play, I have the basic and perhaps advanced shots still there but I seem to be lacking confidence. Obviously time will tell as I play twice a week, but is there anything else I can do to get confidence back quicker?

Roy

PS I have just ordered a swish robot - at least it wont be able to answer back...

Hi Roy,

Glad you have found someone to train with that won't answer back...

I think confidence comes from success.  By hitting the strokes on the table more often you will start to gain confidence.  Of course good technique will help you to get more balls on the table as well.  Practice the technique of your strokes with the robot.  Then move to hitting with others and try to maintain technique.
