I visited a sports equip. shop. They were selling butterfly sriver red max. A seal was intact but rubber wasn't covered with plastic cover so it looked scratched all over by a piece of paper inside. The salesman told me it came in cartons as it was. There can be found all the markings and letters on the rubber, which are suggested by ittf site. And the price was 19 dollars for red(38 dollars including black). Is this genuine?

Hi Jimmy,

If the packet isn't sealed I wouldn't buy it.  It probably is genuine rubber but if it isn't sealed it is more prone to wear.  If it has been out of the packaging for a long time it may have lost some of its grip.  It does seem like a good price though.
