Glue sheet vs water based glue

Hi guys. In my area here, glue sheets are really cheap compared to water based glues but, i'm worried after you remove the rubber, maybe it will leave some residue or something in my blade that is hard to remove. Any advice? Thanks.

I never use glue sheets so I will let others comment on how effective they are.

When I tried this some part of sponge was teared from the rubber and was still on the blade.
