Hi guys,

just a quick question. Is there a grip "between" penhold and shakehand?

Hi Tim,

You can hold the bat any way you like.  There is no rule.

The two main ways that players hold the bat tend to be the way it is easiest to play with.  However, if you find something that suits you then you can use any type of grip that you like.

Strawberry Flick

The strawberry flick is the opposite of the banana flick and involves utilising the wrist to get the ball spinning with topspin and sidespin. Used in conjunction with the banana flick it can be very deceptive. The banana flick is a more reliable stroke and that's why you see more top players using it over the strawberry flick.
