Grip Problems

I've been working with my strokes now and I have noticed. I have the tendency to tilt my wrist to bring my racket down pointing forward. When I'm doing strokes, I try not to tilt my wrist and now I have consistency problems due to me thinking about it. The first question I would like to ask is tilting my wirst good for shakehands? My second question is where do you put pressure on the bat to hold it properly?

Hi Charlie,

Your bat should be an extension of your arm.  Your wrist needs to be in a natural position and relaxed.  If you are tilting it or forcing it one way or the other you will tend to get inconsistencies and also put undue strain on your joints.

To hold the bat properly, there shoul dbe even pressure through your hand, but certainly do not grip the bat too tightly as this will lead to tension in other parts of your arm and body.

So it's okay to have this natural tilting habit I have?

No, the bat should be an extension of the arm without any tilting.
