I have noticed that many players at the top level often go up to the net and put their hand flat on the table. What are they doing?

Hi Neil,

This is just a habit that some players get into.  The main reaso is to wipe the sweat off the palm of their hands.  They do this near the net because that is an area that the ball doesn't land too often.

However in some cases it just becomes part of their routine.
