Hi Sir,
I have an offensive oversize blade with mark v rubbers on both sides. The handle is short and taped. When I hold it with the classical shakehand grip,I find the transition from backhand to forehand quite difficult. When I try to switch from bh to fh I am not not getting the correct forehand grip to send the ball back. I get a feeling of my wrist locked.
But before, when I was playing with the long handle,I felt more comfortable with the transitions.
So, is this related to the handle problem? Also, the short handle bat is quite heavy than the long handle. I am not very much comfortable with this blade. But my coach suggests it as a greater offensive blade than the long handle blade.
I would like to know your advice on which blade should to stick with?
Hi Sameera,
I think it is important to have a blade that feels comfortable.
When you say “short handle” is it a pen hold blade or just a little shorter than normal handle?
Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.
