Hi Alois / Jeff

Some people advice that index and thumb should point to  the ground in the shakehand grip ready position .. what is the reason behind this and would it enhance the strokes ?

Hi Karim,

The fingers should both point in the same direction across your bat.  This means they will be in a natural position and also allow your wrist to be more relaxed.

The relaxed position is important to allow you to play your strokes correctly.
