How to loop heavy spin High over the net aganst backspin
Hi Hugo,
Your stroke needs to be quite vertical and brush up the back of the ball more than forward to generate the spin and also to get the ball higher over the net.
This can be an effective stroke when used as a variation. Try to mix this up with a faster lower topspin to keep your opponent guessing.
We have a tutorial on the Forehand Topspin Off Backspin that will help you with this stroke.
The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:
If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
