hey guys .... I'm a lefty and learning all the time, lately this righty has been giving me serves down my left forehand side and i automatically return to his backhand for which he kills me most of the time ....

I stand to the middle of the table on his service and find myself tripping over my feet trying to return down the left side of the table.

Any help you might pass to me on how to stand for return of service down the line to my forehand?  I have to come up with something fast .........lol

Best ..... George

Hi George,

This may be your receiving position.

Stand with your feet a little wider and then focus on making sure you don’t get too close to the ball and don’t cross your right foot over.

To make the shot down the line just open the angle of your wrist up slightly and then move your bat forward into the ball on contact.  Because the ball will be swinging away it is a little more difficult to get a good contact on it.

Hi Niranjan,

Face towards where the ball is coming from, so face the server.  This will allow you to track the ball and move to where you need to. So you will be quite square to the table.
