Hi Alois and Jeff,

When doing the Reverse Pendulum serve, I can't hit the ball when it is falling because I always do the stroke too early. Can you guys give me tips on hitting the ball and then trying to improve my serve.

Thanks for reading my question guys!

Hi Ashley,

If you are hitting the ball too early try this simple trick.  When you throw the ball up count to your self, 1... 2... and then strike the ball.  This will help you to slow down your swing.  I find one problem that is common is that players don't swing enough forward on the stroke and swing behind the ball and miss it.  Just check that you are not doing this. Make sure that at the end of your swing your bat is going more forward towards the far net post.  I hope this will solve your problem

For more tips on the Reverse Pendulum serve you can also get yourself a copy of our Serving Secrets Revealed DVD.

Variation of Speed

Varying the speed is different from varying the length. You can have a fast short serve and a slow short serve. You can also have a fast long serve and a slow long serve.

Hi Aishik,

Get your bat to come more downwards through the swing so that the ball is bouncing close to you.
