Firstly, Really delighted with the "Pingskills Touch" and freighting service, wow such a delight. After starting in Feb. my wife and I are on session four of the year so at this rate, we have several years to go.

We have only played table tennis as a pastime throughout our lives so were really absolute beginners in term of learning to play using tutored strokes. Pingskills lessons are really enjoyable and have given us the ability to enjoy the game so much more than we ever thought possible. I can't recommend Pingskills enough for the amateur player as both a method of increasing skills and fitness, whilst having fun.

The first exercises are very relevant to both the server and the receiver, we found it takes as much practice for the server to be able to constantly place the ball in the correct half of the table from either backhand or forehand as the receiver needs to return the ball correctly. This proved to be a really good exercise for improvement all round.

I have some difficulty playing a shot that bounces high and close to the body. Any comments?

with many thanks

Quentin

Hi Quentin,

Thanks for your very kind words about the site.  It is always nice to hear that we are able to help in some way.  Also glad that you are liking the PingSkills Touch bat.

For the high ball that is bouncing close to you, try to move back away from the ball and the table to give yourself more space to make the shot.  Then wait till the ball is at shoulder height before making the smash. Take a look at the tutorial on the Forehand Smash for some more ideas on this one.

Keep working on and enjoying the game.
