Strokes
Dear Alois and Jeff,
I see a lot of people hitting very high topspins that go also quite fast. What are the advantages of this and how do you do it?
Thanks
Hi Oliver,
The higher the topspin then the ball must be slower because it is travelling a longer path. You can still get it quite fast though. The more topspin you get the faster the ball will dip down. Concentrate on a good topspin action and then play around with heights of the trajectory of the ball.
Once you've mastered the start and finish position of the forehand topspin, you can start to focus on finer details. In this video we talk about the position of your legs, weight transfer, varying the finish position, incorporating footwork, the use of your wrist, and the angle of your bat for the stroke.
