Home-made table tennis robot

I saw a kid on YouTube who built a table tennis robot hat fed him the balls. Watch it at:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSh2F42pXZI This kid used wood. Can't you make one with basic house supplies? If so, how? Will it take a few hours? How long? Thanks again, your best friend, Bman489

That would be an interesting project.  I know I couldn't make one but maybe someone with some real skills could do it.
