How Much Impact Does a Blade Have on Rubber?

How much impact does a blade have on a rubber?  I really liked by friends paddle.  Can I place his rubbers on my blade and get somewhat similar results, or do I have to buy his blade as well? I use the PingSkills Touch. His is a 5 ply wood 2 ply carbon blade rated OFF+. The rubbers are Solcion by Butterfly.

Hi Rohan,

I think the rubbers have more effect than the blade. You will get similar effects by using the same rubber on your blade. Your friend has a very fast blade though and it will make the ball come off the bat faster. Personally I prefer a more controlled blade with faster rubbers.

If you are looking for a faster combination, I would start by just changing your rubbers. If you still want more speed then you could look at getting a faster blade too.
