Training
I’m a 14 year old boy and I have just started playing table tennis at the start of October this year. I have learnt the basic strokes and spins but I don’t know what I should practice next. Should I just continue on the basics or start to learn some of the more complex stuff? I also am getting the Carlton kx k9 bat which has 100 control and 95 spin and 90 speed. Is that a good bat to get for a beginner?
Hi Sam,
That bat looks like it will be good to begin with.
It is good that you are learning the strokes. The next thing is to start to put those strokes together.
Take a look at our Building Blocks of Table Tennis tutorial. This will explain the progression of learning that will help you to develop your game.
The push is an important part of Table Tennis. It is a defensive stroke which you use to make it hard for your opponent to attack. This week we give you a number of pushing drills and even incorporate some pushing games into the session for a bit of fun. We continue to work on your serve and in this session we concentrate on your placement.

So u can watch few TT tricks and different videos and try them on the table. Practice difficult Stoke every day.

I would not agree with Aniketh about practising difficult strokes first.
