How tight or loose should i grip the bat

On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the tightest), how tight or loose should i grip the bat for backhand, forehand and serve?

Hi Peter,

There are different areas of pressure for each stroke.  For the backhand there tends to be more pressure on the thumb, for the forehand more of an even pressure and for the serve it will change depending on the type of serve but in general on the pinch between your thumb and forefinger.

In general don't focus too much on this but focus on keeping the grip as light as you can... while still not letting go of the bat of course!
