Equipment
A lot of players sometimes fail because their bat isn't quite good. So what I am asking you is can go over in detail on which bats are for which player like some bats are better for offensive players while others for defensive and some are in between.
Hi Jack,
It is true that you need a decent bat so that you can generate spin. Without spin you won't be able to hit a fast topspin stroke or generate your own backspin if you are a defensive player.
However it is common for people to think that equipment is the solution to their problems but it rarely is. I would not worry very much about your equipment and concentrate on improving your technique.
There are so many options with equipment. We've chosen a few that we recommend and sell these in our online store. However there are plenty of other good options.
I recommend you read my blog Tone is in your fingers for my thoughts on the matter.
So my advice to you is to choose a reputable brand, get yourself a bat and then put all your attention to improving your skill level knowing that it is up to you and not your equipment.
Good luck!

Hi Victor,
The best way to clean your bat is to wipe it with damp cloth. Make sure the cloth isn't too wet and don't leave any water on the rubber after you clean it.
With regards to your rubber, I'm not sure what type you have. Take a look at our lesson on the effects of rubber and you should easily see the difference between the pimpled rubber and normal rubber.
