what is the best way to counter a long top spin serve?
Hi Peter,
The best way to return a long topspin serve is to attack the ball. I'd suggest that you play a strong topspin attack. The stroke will be similar to our topspin off a block.
If you are having trouble playing a topspin stroke then you can simply block the ball back. But this is not the best method and you should focus on this in practice until you are able to topspin the ball back. By attacking the ball you will put the pressure back onto your opponent. If you play a passive stroke it will give them the opportunity to attack you.
