Serving
Hey..I need a little help with my services.. I know only the backhand push and forehand push services... Can you please suggest me around five good services so that I can improve my chance of improving? And also, I'm not too advanced, and I can't do topspin, though I'm trying. Can you help me please?
Hi Avantika,
The first thing to try would be to try brushing across the line of the ball. You can do this away from the table and get the ball to bounce on the floor. See if you ca get the ball to curve in the air and on the floor. This will mean you are getting sidespin. When you feel comfortable with this you can move closer to the table and try to do it bouncing the ball on the table. Don't worry if it doesn't serve properly, just try to get the movement of the ball.
The final step is to then try to do it while serving the ball.
You can repeat this process on both forehand and backhand. Don't try to learn too many serves to start with. When you are ready you should purchase the Serving Secrets Revealed DVD. This will show you a whole lot of serves and also show you how to do different spins with each of them.
Let me know how you go with it.

Well, serving is very important, hwatever Alois said was right. And i recommend one thing: to pracetise serving or finding another one, try spinning the ball in any direction, try putting any type of spin on it and spin it as hard as you can (but make sure you don't hit or destroy anything in the process). Like this, you can practise putting the spin onto the ball. Thats how I managed to try and find any sevice and putting spin on it.
