Strokes
I would like to know the backhand topspin and the corkscrew serve.. Cud you post a video on it?
Hi Hafiz,
We will get to the backhand topspin soon I hope. But for now, the principles are the same as the other strokes. Think about the start position. It would be down around knee height, either in between your knees or slightly outside your left knee for a right hander. The contact is a brushing action. The finish position is at head height and on the right hand side of your body. We will try to get a video on it soon.
I am not sure which serve you are referring to as the corkscrew serve. Let us know and we will be able to give you more information on it.
The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:
If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
