Discussion
Hi,
i am only 12 years old but i have been playing table tennis since i was 7. i compete in table tennis tournaments with my school about 3 times a year but i would like to compete more often than this. my style of play is attacking especially on forehand. I live in margate, kent, england and i would not be able to play tournaments to far away from this area. I am a member of the I.T.T.T.A. please help me find some local tournaments as i have looked for a long time over the internet. also would i be able to register for the ETTA at this level?
thanks in advance, bye.
Hi William,
The best thing is to find your local club. This is the best step for any young player so that they start to see other players. You will also find out about tournaments through them.
Try to contact the English Table Tennis Association and see if they know of any clubs close to you. You can also search their website etta.co.uk for other information about how to get into Table Tennis.
It is worthwhile pursuing this because it will really benefit your game.
When the ball hits the ceiling the point is over. You must hit the ball directly back onto the table otherwise you lose the point. In International tournaments the roof needs to be at least 5 metres above the playing surface but in local competitions you might often encounter much lower ceilings.
