How to go more forward in FH loop

I've been playing for a while and have a fairly consistent FH loop, but many high level players have told me that I need to go forward more to generate more power (I've heard this like 10 times). The problem s are:

(1) What does it mean by going more forward? Do I close my paddle more? Does the swing angle become more forward? Does the body move more forward? Some combinations of those?

(2) Sometimes it feels very awkward to go forward, especially on backspin balls. It gets even more awkward if I wait for the ball with backspin to drop a bit before lifting.

A video would help a lot. Thanks!

Hi Duc,

Going forward means making your stroke more horizontal.  I think you can think about the top edge of your bat still leading the way just now it goes more horizontally.

To go more forward against the backspin ball you need a lot of racket speed otherwise the ball will drop into the net.

Let me know if this clears it up.

Thanks Alois! Also, for backspin balls would it be easier to go forward if I don't wait too much?

It is easiest when the ball is at its highest.

Going forward for me also means having a good weight transfer forward when making your stroke.  This is one of the worst aspects of my own game.  I often find myself falling backwards, especially when I am trying to hit a spinny slow FH loop.
