How do i play aggressively towards my opponent?
Hi Jahan,
The first thing is to identify the balls that are coming long to you. Long means that they will only bounce once on your side of the table. Once you can get a feel for this, you need to focus on making a topspin stroke each time they give you a long ball.
The most important stroke here is the Forehand Topspin Off Backspin. Practice this stroke a lot and you will start to become more aggressive in matches.
When playing penhold players it is important to remember to first analyse your opponent as you would if they used any grip. What are their strengths and weaknesses? A common weakness of penhold players is their forehand block especially against a slow spinny topspin. Their backhand may be a weakness if they use the traditional style, or you may wish to explore the crossover point if they are using the reverse penhold backhand.
