Receiving
When i was playing a match with my friend in the club,he did a sidespin service from his backhand(DONIC COPPA JO GOLD), which i could not receive from either backhand nor forehand. Please suggest some tricks to receive that service.
THANK YOU

Hi Mohit,
Watch the direction the ball is going off your bat. If he is a right hander the ball will be going to your left so you need to angle your racket to the right to counteract it. Keep it simple and see if you can get the ball back on the table using this.
We also have a lot of information on this area in our Receiving Secrets section.
A really important skill in table tennis is to be able to judge if a serve will be short or long. If it's short you won't be able to take a full swing at the ball and hence will need to use either a push or a flick to return the ball. However, if it is coming long then you can make a topspin attack. In this video we give you some tips to help you judge the length of the serve and hopefully this makes you a better returner.
