Hey Alois,

I have been struggling to return a heavy backspin chop. I want to specifically how to return it with a topspin on the forehand. Whenever I play defensive players I struggle to return it with a topspin, so I return it with a normal backspin push but then, they counter me with a smash.

Thanks!

Hi Sung,

The stroke you need to focus on is the Forehand Topspin Off Backspin stroke.  This is one that can take a little time to develop.  Focus on the start and finish positions that we emphasise in the tutorial.  Don't be afraid to miss some when you are starting out.

It is great that you are thinking about playing this stroke more because it is an important part of developing your game.

Strawberry Flick

The strawberry flick is the opposite of the banana flick and involves utilising the wrist to get the ball spinning with topspin and sidespin. Used in conjunction with the banana flick it can be very deceptive. The banana flick is a more reliable stroke and that's why you see more top players using it over the strawberry flick.
