Hey Coach! You guys are really good! You helped me alot in m training. Okay so i would like to ask you, is it alright if i chopped the balls when my opponent topspins the ball? Or should i just put my bat there and wait for the ball to hit my bat? Also, how do I make my topspin faster and more spinny? Do I move my bat faster? Thanks! Rock On!

Hi James,

When your opponent topspins the two most common replies are to block or chop the ball back.

Either is acceptable.

Take a look at the lessons. There is one on backhand blocking and also one on forehand chopping and another on backhand chopping.  The forehand block will be up there shortly.

Use the se stroke to combat a topspin from your opponent.

To make your topspin faster all you need to do is make your swing faster.  As long as you have your stroke technically correct you can swing as fast as you like and the ball can still go on.

To get even more speed contact the ball a little flatter with less spin.  This iwll decrease your consistency but increase speed.
