Strategy
I'm trying to be more aware in my matches, to figure out what to work on, and develop good match adaptation.
Apart from just video taping matches (not always possible, even with mobile phones), what would you record each point? Type of winning shot? Placement? Serve effectiveness?
Or, is it better to just isolate one section and just track data on that across a couple matches?
Hi Frank,
I think a couple of things you can track are your positioning and type of serve. The same with the return of serve.
Then think about the first attacking shot and its placement.
Finally think about where the winning shot was placed.
How much data you can gain will depend on who is doing it or if you have access to a video and can watch it back and do some analysis.
The key tactic against an attacking looper is to stop them playing their favourite shot, the loop. Alois tells you the best tactics to swing things in your favour when playing this type of player.
