Training
How to serve with no table? my tournament is starting in three days and i need to train serve but i have no normal table home. Have you any ideas you can share?
Hi Felix,
It is not ideal just before a tournament but to get the feel of the contact you can hit the ball onto the floor and see how much spin you are getting by seeing the flight and curve of the ball once it hits the floor.
Close to a tournament it is definitely better to be serving on a table to get the real feel of where the ball is going.
It's important to take the initiative in a rally. My old coach used to call this forcing the pace. To get better at forcing the pace, we are going to consciously go for more power on our third ball shots. We may miss a few more balls but that is part of our development.

That is a good point. Jeff did an interview once with Richard Leea former New Zealand champion and one of his bits of advice is that players give up too early.
