Hi Alois and Jeff,

One of my friend recommended me to use Chinese rubber for my FH and gave option to select from Hurricane 3, Hurricane 3-50, Hurricane 8 and Friendship 729-08.

Please suggest me one which will suit my Tibhar Marcos Freitas. My current FH rubber is Tenergy 05.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Vivek,

My first question is why do you want to switch rubber? Tenergy 05 itself is an excellent rubber. I find that people tend to switch rubbers more than they should and that focusing on improving your technique will have a much bigger impact on your game.

If you do think that Tenergy is not the rubber for you then I'd suggest seeing if you can find someone with one of the rubbers you are thinking about switching to, and try their bat for 30 minutes to see if you like the new rubber. There's no substitute for using the rubber to see if you like it.

Jeff is spot on. I admittedly get too caught up in equipment, even though I know it truly doesn't make that huge of a difference (but I enjoy it anyway). Speaking more specifically to those rubbers. If you like Tenergy 05 and can afford it, I would recommend just keeping with it. Tenergy is widely regarded as the best on the market. If you want to make the switch to tacky rubbers, or are looking to save money, I would recommend the Hurrcane 8 or 3-50. I use the Hurricane 8 and have used the Hurricane 3 in the past. The 8 has a more elastic feel and might be a more natural transition from Tenergy. I haven't personally used the 3-50, but from what I hear, it is like the Hurricane 3 with a softer sponge, so might also give you that kind of feel.
