Hi guys. First off, I really like the vids. Great job.

I have a problem, over a period of 10 years or so my FH loop has become groved so that I hook the ball each time I loop, and its very difficult to break out of the habit & loop straight topspin.  My coach has told me to stop dropping the wrist at the start of the stroke, but easier said than done!  Just wondering if you had any tips that could help me break this habit.

Cheers!

Hi Tim,

Yes, first take a look at th eBlog which was in our recent newsletter on Correcting Errors.

The when you are doing your forehand topspins look at what is happening to the ball.  I want you to experiment with getting the ball to curve left, go straight and curve right.  Don't worry about if the ball lands on the table or not.  I just want you to concentrate on the amount of curve.  Play around with the different curves for a while.  This will give you an idea of what is possible.  Then you will be able to start to control which direction you get the ball to curve or even get it to go straight.
