Strokes
Hey.
I'm a beginner, and has only been doing training for a few months or so.
I've developed a satisfactory forehand attack-it isn't very powerful but I can do it.
But I do not have a very aggressive backhand at all; I rarely make an attack with my backhand. Most if not all times I use blocks or counterhits for my backhand.
Do you think it is important to have a good backhand attack too?
Thanks.
Hi Johnny,
I think it is important to be able to attack with the backhand. It doesn’t have to be as good as your forehand but you need the option so that your opponent can’t just tie you down on the backhand side.
There are 3 basic areas to focus on when learning a stroke: 1) The position of your feet. 2) The starting position of your bat. 3) The finishing position of your bat. Of all these 3 elements the finish position is the most critical. Watch this video to find out why.
