Hi Alois,

This is Atoms again... How can I improve the grip of my racket?

Hi Atoms,

If the rubber is slippery then try just wiping it down with a damp sponge.  If this doesn't improve the grip then it is time to get a new rubber.

Then don't try to do too much with it.  You won't be able to improve the grip, just wipe it down with a damp sponge.

Hi Coach Alois,

I changed my black rubber to Dawei 2008. It's a very fast rubber and it has very good grip too and it has improved all my serves and my backhand smash, topspin, chop and sidespin flick. How can I maintain it's grip besides using a damp sponge and rubber soap?

Just use range damp sponge to clean it.  When you are not using the bat use a cover to store it.  Also make sure you keep it away from direct sunlight.  This is a big killer of rubber.

You could also use protection sheets - I always use them on my bats and every time I play is like I'm playing with a brand new rubber ;)

Cheerios,
Sam
