I am not having good spin and speed on my serves and topspin and my serves are now very slow. What should I do to improve my serve's speed and spin.

Hi Shubhanshu,

The most important thing is to get the racket moving faster trough your serve.  If you do this you can generate both spin and speed.  If your racket is moving slowly then you will be able  to get a little spin if you have a good contact but not a lot of spin.

The other critical factor is the contact of the bat on the ball.  It needs to be a brushing action to get more spin and a flatter contact to get more speed.

This is the same with your topspin strokes.  If you move your bat slowly through the stroke the ball will travel slower.

Strawberry Flick

The strawberry flick is the opposite of the banana flick and involves utilising the wrist to get the ball spinning with topspin and sidespin. Used in conjunction with the banana flick it can be very deceptive. The banana flick is a more reliable stroke and that's why you see more top players using it over the strawberry flick.
