Increasing my spin

Strokes

Hi PingSkills,

I want to ask how to increase my spin? Is there any exercises?

The problem is that I'm trying to make a forehand topspin and the ball goes into the net or off the table. Sometimes ball hits the table but it's not spinny it's just a simple smash. I tried to do all this faster but when I miss the ball or hit very strong and then ball goes where he wants.

Thank you for help.

Hi Tom,

You have to think about the finish position of your stroke.  If you get your bat into the finish position you will start to get the ball on more consistently.  Then think about getting a more brushing action with your stroke.

If you follow the simple steps in our lesson on the Forehand Topspin Against Block you will get the stroke right and get spin on the ball.

  2. Start Position: Positioning your racket and body correctly to initiate the stroke effectively.
  3. Finish Position: Completing the stroke in a way that prepares you for the next shot.

Additionally, we discuss how to adjust your bat angle if the ball goes long, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the same start and finish positions without coming across your body.
